Accra, April 10, GNA – Mr Henry Asante Twum, Director of Communications at the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has urged media practitioners and content creators to produce inspirational storytelling that will strengthen the Black Stars brand ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

He made the call during a training session for media practitioners at the U.S. Embassy in Accra, themed “Leveraging Media Platforms for Effective Black Stars Coverage”.

Speaking at the event, Mr Asante underscored the global appeal and cultural significance of the Black Stars brand.

“The Black Stars aren’t just a football team; they’re a national passion. How we share their story is crucial,” he said, adding that modern digital platforms provide opportunities for increased fan engagement.

Mr Asante, an experienced sports journalist, stressed the importance of audience awareness across different social media platforms and encouraged tailored content strategies.

He delivered an in-depth presentation on boosting engagement through live updates, behind-the-scenes access, and interactive content.

“TikTok and Reels are massive for younger audiences and quick consumption. We don’t always have to create. Empower fans to create for us and amplify their passion,” Mr Asante stated.

He further noted the need for a lighter, more relatable approach to reach wider audiences.

“This is where we can be a bit more playful and connect with a broader, often younger, demographic,” he said.

Mr Asante also called on media practitioners to intensify coverage of the Black Stars’ World Cup journey, describing it as an opportunity to unlock future growth.

“Ultimately, what are we trying to achieve? A powerful, emotional connection. The digital landscape will keep changing, and so must we. Let’s work together to make Black Stars coverage the gold standard, inspiring generations of fans and players,” he stated.
