Aboadze (WR), April 20, GNA – Dr. Justice Amo, the Lay Chairman of the Sekondi Diocese of the Methodist Church of Ghana, says youth development is critical for the future of any organisation, including the church.

He therefore pledged support to youth empowerment and skills development to ensure that the church’s youth became meaningful citizens serving the interest of humanity.

Dr. Amo told the Ghana News Agency during the 65th annual synod of the Methodist Church Ghana, Sekondi at Aboadze in the Western Region.

“In my three-year tenure as a chairman of the laity, we will prioritize their needs and aspirations, meet their basic needs, walk with them, counsel and nurture them to become better asset to the future of the Church and Ghana as a whole”.

His tenure, he promised, would also see improvement in the health needs of the people.

Dr. Amo said the well-being of the laity was critical to serving God and humanity adding, “we are putting up a health insurance scheme in that regard”.

He called on the laity to give themselves to the things of God, live a sacrificial life as disciples of God.
