Assembly member motivates BECE candidates with mathematical sets, pens

Sunyani, (Bono), April 28, GNA – Mr Joe Appiah, the Assembly Member for the Penkwase Low-Cost Electoral Area in the Sunyani Municipality has presented quantities of mathematical sets and boxes of pens to some candidates of the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in electoral area. 

As the candidates prepare for the BECE which begins on May 4, Mr Appiah told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the items were to motivate the candidates. 

In an interview on the sidelines of a presentation ceremony held at the premises of the Sunyani Sacred Heart Junior High School (JHS), he said 260 beneficiaries were drawn the Sacred JHS, His Grace Academy JHS, Resurrection Presbyterian JHS and the Panest JHS. 

Mr Appiah advised the candidates to stand against the temptation of engaging in examination malpractices that could land them in trouble. 

He urged them to be studious and confident and do independent work by avoiding copying and sending foreign materials to the examination halls. 

Mr Appiah said the BECE determined their academic successes, and urged the candidates to do their best, wishing them a successful examination.
