By Robert Tachie Menson, GNA

Antwirifo, (Bono), April 27, GNA – Baffour Takyi Ababio, the Chief of Antwirifo in the Dormaa Traditional Area of the Bono Region, has called on the police administration to expedite action for the construction of a police station in the community to control the crime wave.

The chief made the call when Mr Joseph Addae Akwaboa, the Bono Regional Minister, extended his “Accounting to the People Series” to the Dormaa Central Municipality, and interacted with the community members.

Baffour Ababio called on the Regional Minister’s to intervene in finalising the architectural designs for the construction of the police station, saying that the community had already held discussions with the police administration for the station.

Baffour Ababio, also the Bomaahene (sub-chief) of the Dormaa Traditional Council, said the community was ready to commence the construction of the project with their own resources and therefore needed the architectural drawings to do so.

He said the community was fast growing and now had a chief’s palace and a health centre, and that the establishment of a police station was required to control the crime wave and enhance the security of the area.

Baffour Ababio appealed also for support towards the construction of a standard market to stimulate economic growth and development.

He thanked the Regional Minister for his efforts towards bringing the development of the community to the next level.
