Accra, April 21, GNA – Adamus Resources has denied reports alleging that it has leased portions of its mining concessions to foreign entities, describing the claims as false.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the company said assertions that it had bypassed local interests were “entirely without truth”.
It reaffirmed its commitment to addressing the concerns and advancing the interests of host communities in the Nzema area of the Western Region, stressing that it would not renege on its responsibilities.
The company emphasised that it is wholly Ghanaian-owned and managed, and called for constructive engagement rather than confrontation.
It highlighted its local employment record, stating that more than 60 per cent of its workforce is drawn from its immediate host communities, one of the highest ratios in the mining industry.
Overall, Adamus said it employs over 3,000 Ghanaians across its group of companies and plans to increase employment opportunities in Nzema and other areas as operations expand.
Addressing unemployment concerns, the company said it has, since assuming operations in 2017, granted hundreds of acres of its concessions to local communities for small-scale mining.
Beneficiaries include the Nkroful Small Scale Mining Association, which received 25 acres, the Akomu Small Scale Mining Association, which was allocated 50 acres at Nvuma, and the Apataim community.
The company said credible information suggested a recent demonstration was organised by illegal miners posing as community representatives.
Adamus Resources Limited urged aggrieved persons to seek redress through lawful means and reiterated its readiness to engage stakeholders to resolve legitimate concerns in line with the law and its corporate social responsibility.
