Aflao (V/R), June 19, GNA-Bishop Elijah Dogli Bazooka Fire, Founder and Leader of Jesus Miracle Temple International in the Ketu South Manicipality of the Volta Region has called on men to embrace responsible fatherhood as the world marks this year’s Father’s Day.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Bishop Bazooka Fire urged fathers to remain committed to their duties, noting that fatherhood demanded sacrifice, discipline and unwavering dedication to family welfare.
He explained that Father’s Day, celebrated annually on the third Sunday of June, was an opportunity to honour fathers and recognise their immense contributions to the growth and stability of families and society.
The Bishop noted that the celebration, which traces its origins to the early 20th century in the United States, had become a global event acknowledging the role of fathers in shaping the lives of their children.
“We celebrate fathers appreciate their love, sacrifices and the positive impact they make in the lives of their children and families,” he said.
Bishop Bazooka Fire highlighted the critical role fathers played in providing for their families, including ensuring access to education, healthcare and shelter, often at the expense of their personal comfort.
He said beyond material provision, fathers were expected to offer emotional support and moral guidance, serving as role models to their children.
Quoting from Deuteronomy 6:6-7, he emphasised the spiritual responsibility of fathers to teach and guide their children in the ways of God.
The Bishop stressed that responsible fatherhood was key to building strong homes and a stable society, urging men to prioritise the well-being of their families at all times.
He commended fathers who continued to demonstrate commitment and responsibility and wished them a happy and fulfilling Father’s Day celebration.
