Western Regional House of Chiefs pay historic visit to Awulae Annor Adjaye III at Beyin

Beyin (W/R), March 11, GNA – The Western Regional House of Chiefs have paid a historic visit to the immediate past Paramount Chief of the Western Nzema Traditional Area, Awulae Annor Adjaye, at his residence in Beyin, Jomoro Municipality. 

The visit afforded the House the opportunity to interact with Awulae Annor Adjaye and deepen the bond of affinity that existed between him and members of the House. 

 Awulae Annor Adjaye stepped down as Paramount chief after decades on the throne, due to old age. 

Nana Kobina Nketiah, President of the Western Regional House of Chiefs who led the delegation, said the visit was proper and fitting to confer with Awulae Annor Adjaye, who paved the way for his brother Awulae Kwasi Amakyi III to ascend the throne. 

He said the House would continue to pay such courtesy calls to remind Awulae Annor Adjaye that he was still part of the House. 

Nana Kobina Nketiah assured Awulae Kwasi Amakyi III the brother and successor of Awulae  Annor Adjaye of their support to ensure a successful reign and emphasized that Awulae Annor Adjaye’s expertise and experience would continue to be tapped. 

Welcoming the House, Awulae Annor Adjaye stressed the need for unity among chiefs to drive socio-economic development in the Western Region.  

For his part, Awulae Kwasi Amakyi III thanked the chiefs for their support, saying the visit indicated a bright future for the regional body of chiefs.
