Accra, March 18, GNA – The Asokwa Circuit Court One has remanded Patricia Osei Boateng, also known as Boatema, into lawful custody for the second time over an alleged robbery case.

A Police brief indicated that Boateng had been charged with abetment of crime to wit; robbery, and was to reappear in court on March 24, 2026, as investigations continued.

At the court sitting on March 17, 2026, Mr Richard Acquah, counsel for Boateng, prayed the court to grant his client bail, but the prosecution opposed the application.

The trial judge, Mr Fred Obikyere, did not take Boateng’s plea and remanded her into lawful police custody.

Earlier, on March 11, 2026, the Asokwa Circuit Court One remanded key suspects, Kojo Amposah and Emmanuel Kwame Appiah, into police custody to reappear on March 26, 2026.

They had been charged with the offence of robbery.

Meanwhile, Bashiru Tanko, who is connected to the syndicate, was also in custody and was being investigated for multiple criminal offences, including car snatching and robbery.

The Ghana Police Service dismantled a carjacking syndicate operating in the Ashanti Region and parts of Tarkwa, leading to the arrest of four suspects.

The breakthrough followed the fatal shooting of Mr Andrews Amankwaa during a robbery at Ohwim Amanfrom on February 10, 2026.

Mr Amankwaa’s Toyota Hilux vehicle, with registration number GN 6647-25, was snatched during the attack.

Mr Amankwaa, the father-in-law of Mr Sammy Gyamfi, Chief Executive Officer of Goldbod, later died at the hospital while receiving treatment.

“The Police will continue to update the public on further development regarding this case as it happens,” the brief said.
