Anloga (VR), Sept. 03, GNA – Mr Ephraim Dodzi Jumpah, the Assembly Member for the Tegbi-Ashiata Electoral Area, has formally declared his intention to contest for the position of Vice Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Anlo Constituency of the Volta Region.
He described his bid as a call to duty and appealed for support from the grassroots to enable him to serve in that capacity, and to help strengthen the internal structures of the party ahead of future electoral contests.
Mr Jumpah, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said his candidature was rooted in humility and a genuine desire to contribute to the growth of the NDC in the Anlo constituency rather than personal ambition.
“I am capable and very competent enough for the Chairmanship position, I urge all party members to rally behind my candidacy, and I am confidence that with the support of the electorate, the party’s fortunes in the constituency will be strengthened,” he said.
He pledged to help restructure and rebrand the party at the constituency level, believing that the move would make the NDC more attractive to a broader base of followers, including the youth and first-time party sympathisers.
Mr Ephraim noted that a rebranded and reorganised constituency structure would position the party more competitively towards future elections.
He pledged closer collaboration with fellow party executives at both the constituency and regional levels, saying such cooperation would be critical to attract more development projects into the Anlo Constituency.
“A united front among party executives will enhance the constituency’s ability to advocate for its needs at higher levels of party and government engagement,” he said.
Mr Jumpah said he was a grassroots mobiliser with a proven record of service, and his current work as an Assembly Member for Tegbi-Ashiata, was clear evidence of his commitment to community development and responsive leadership.
He also said his familiarity with the concerns of ordinary constituents made him well suited to represent the interests of party members at the executive level.
Some NDC supporters in the constituency have described Mr Jumpah as a unifying figure capable of bridging divisions within the constituency’s party structures, an attribute they said would be essential in building the cohesion needed to prepare the NDC for the next phase of electoral competition in the Volta Region.
Mr Jumpah further called on all party members, families and well-wishers to support his candidature, while expressing optimism that, with collective effort, the party would emerge stronger and better positioned to serve the people of Anlo as internal party elections approaches.
He also expressed gratitude to all who have pledged their support so far and reaffirmed his commitment to selfless service, restructuring efforts, and the pursuit of development projects for the Anlo Constituency should he be elected Vice Chairman of the NDC.
