Hwidiem, (Ahafo), March 05, GNA – The Asutifi South District Assembly in the Ahafo Region has presented working items worth GH¢96,000 to some Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in the district.
In all, 23 PwDs received the items comprising refrigerators as well as some working tools for carpentry and mobile phone repairs.
Speaking at a ceremony at Hwidiem, the district capital, Mr Benjamin Asabre Donkor, the Asutifi South District Chief Executive, said the items were procured through the disability fund and with some support from Alhaji Collins Dauda, the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area.
He lauded the contributions of the MP towards the holistic development of the district and praised the government for its support towards improving the district’s infrastructural development.
Mr Donkor urged the beneficiaries to use the items for their intended purposes and to improve their socioeconomic livelihoods.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) thanked the MP and the government and pledged to make good use of the gifts.
