Accra, March 5, GNA – Comfee Ghana Limited, a home appliance company, has donated 10 air conditioners worth GHC85,000 to the maternity ward of the Police Hospital in Accra.

The air conditioners comprise 1.5HP, 2.0HP and 2.5HP units.

Ms Pearl Gborglah, the Executive Director of Comfee Ghana Limited, presenting the items, said businesses must go beyond providing products and services by supporting the communities within which they operated.

“As a company that specialises in providing high-quality air conditioning solutions, we recognise that comfort plays a crucial role in the healing process,” she said.

“We are committed to ensuring that every patient, especially those receiving care in our hospitals, has the best possible environment to aid their recovery.”

Ms Gborglah said the company chose the maternity ward because women were the backbone of families and communities, hence the need to ensure they had access to the most comfortable and supportive surroundings when they sought medical care.

“We hope these air conditioners will help create a cooler and more comfortable environment for them, offering some relief as they focus on their recovery,” she added.

“The donation is not just about providing a product but about making a meaningful difference.”

“It is about enhancing the hospital’s efforts in providing excellent healthcare and acknowledging the important role that women play in our society.”

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Dr Azue-in-yeng Luke Zakpaa, Deputy Medical Director of the Police Hospital, who received the items, called for more logistical support from institutions and organisations.

“We want our partners to support us with equipment, drugs and consumables so we can expand our services,” he said.

“We will be very grateful if organisations partner with us. The Police Hospital is a busy facility with a high turnout, especially accident cases. Sometimes patients come without dependents and we still have to take care of them.”

Dr Zakpaa said healthcare equipment was expensive and the hospital often had to replace equipment that broke down.

He said the donation from Comfee Ghana Limited would go a long way to ease some of the hospital’s challenges and appealed to the company to continue supporting the facility.
