Asukawkaw SHS Wins Krachi East Municipal Quiz Competition

Dambai(O/R), March 7, GNA- Asukawkaw Senior High School has emerged winners in the Krachi East Municipal Quiz, organized by the Krachi East Municipal Assembly in collaboration with the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) to commemorate Ghana’s 69th Independence Day.

The event held at the Dambai College of Education auditorium, brought together six senior high schools in the municipality, testing their knowledge and skills in a competitive contest.

Asukawkaw SHS secured the top position, followed by MIST SH, Oti Technical SHS gained third position, Holy Cross Seminary SHS, Yabram Community Day SHS, Dambai SHS placed fourth and fifth, respectively.

The competition featured questions on Ghanaian history, culture, and current affairs, with students showcasing their knowledge and critical thinking skills.

The Oti Regional Minister, Mr John Kwadwo Gyapong, graced the occasion, emphasizing the significance of Ghana’s independence and the need for collective efforts towards national development.

He highlighted the government’s commitment to improving the lives of Ghanaians, citing ongoing projects in infrastructure, health, agriculture, and education.

Mr Gyapong noted that the government’s focus on these sectors aims to create jobs, boost economic growth, and enhance the overall well-being of the people.

He also stressed the importance of peace and stability in the region, commending the people of Oti Region to maintain harmony and urging continued collaboration to unlock the region’s potential.

Mr Gyapong commended the Krachi East Municipal Assembly for organizing the quiz competition, stating that it promotes healthy competition and encourages students to strive for excellence.

He urged the students to take advantage of the opportunities available to them, emphasizing the importance of education in shaping their future. The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including the Municipal Chief Executive, traditional leaders, and security agencies.

The quiz competition was part of the municipality’s efforts to celebrate Ghana’s independence and promote national pride among the youth.

The winners were awarded prizes and certificates, with Asukawkaw SHS receiving the coveted trophy. The event ended with a call for continued efforts towards national development and a brighter future for Ghana.
