Korlekope-Ada, March 24, GNA – Mr Kenneth Kabu Kofi Kanor, the Ada East District Chief Executive, has cut the sod for the construction of a kindergarten school block at Korlekope in the Greater Accra Region.

The ceremony marked the commencement of the project aimed at improving early childhood education infrastructure in the community.

Korlekope, which is one of the oldest settlements in the district, is currently among the fastest-growing communities due to its proximity to Kasseh, the commercial hub of the district.

Mr Kanor, speaking at the ceremony, said the project formed part of key development initiatives promised by President John Dramani Mahama.

He assured residents that the assembly would ensure the timely completion of the facility to enhance teaching and learning in the area.

“As DCE, I will ensure that this project is completed on time for the benefit of the community,” he said.

Mr Kanor indicated that the assembly had outlined additional projects aimed at improving infrastructure and livelihoods across the district.

Miss Joana Hassan, the Chief Executive Officer of Exiles Construction Company, the contractors for the project, assured that the project would be completed within three months.

She said the company was committed to delivering quality work within the stipulated timeframe.

Mr Emmanuel Tetteh Kabu, Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ada, appealed to the contractor to engage local residents as labourers to provide temporary employment opportunities for the youth.

The ceremony was attended by the presiding member of the Ada East District Assembly, Mr Philip Tetteh Achia, as well as community leaders, assembly members, and party officials.
