Ada, Feb. 27, GNA — The Office of Nene Korle V Wetsoyi, the Divisional Head of the Tekperbiawe Clan in Ada, has dissociated itself from a group of persons allegedly parading as landguards in the name of the clan.

In a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), the office said it had received reports that some individuals, claiming to be Tekperbiawe landguards, were operating around clan landing properties across Ada under the pretext of holding a Power of Attorney from Dzetse Nene Abram Akuaku III and the Principal Stool Father, Nene Amanortey Narhnguah.

The statement alleged that between Saturday, February 21, and Sunday, February 22, 2026, the group moved through parts of the Korlekorpe enclave, firing gunshots and chanting war songs, actions that reportedly created fear and panic among residents.

It further accused the group of unlawfully harassing and brutalising individuals undertaking construction works while falsely presenting themselves as Tekperbiawe Asafoatsemei and land guards.

The office unequivocally condemned the conduct, describing it as unacceptable and damaging to the reputation of both the Paramountcy and the Tekperbiawe Clan.

It stressed that Nene Korle V remains the only recognised Wetsoyi (clan head) of the clan, duly acknowledged by the Ada Paramountcy, the Regional House of Chiefs and the National House of Chiefs, with the sole authority to sanction or authorise any person or group regarding clan properties.

The statement said the reported actions of the alleged land guards constituted “scandalous misconduct” that had no place under the leadership of Nene Korle V.

The office, therefore, advised the public to remain vigilant and avoid dealing with such individuals, emphasising that they do not represent the Tekperbiawe Clan.

It expressed regret for any inconvenience or fear caused to the public and urged residents to promptly report activities of such groupings to the police.
