In addition, Mrs Mamattah personally sponsored four special recognitions dubbed the “Director’s Awards” to acknowledge exceptional staff members.
She explained that although health workers are often reminded that their ultimate reward is in heaven, it was equally important to recognise dedication and sacrifice on earth.
Quoting from the Lord’s Prayer, she noted that “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven,” saying that such recognition represented a glimpse of heaven through appreciation of hard work and commitment.
“These awards were sponsored by me to appreciate these officers who, among other staff, have gone the extra mile in their efforts to improve healthcare delivery in the municipality,” she stated.
Ms Diana Ackom was recognised for consistently supporting the Health Director’s office in strategy development and implementation of health sector goals.
Ms Abigail Osae received an award for being a value-adding officer with strong dedication, responsibility, and work ethic.
Ms Esinam Amegbanu was presented with the 2025 Director’s Leadership Award for transforming a previously low-performing health centre into a model and best-performing facility in the municipality, while Ms Elsie Bedi received the Most Promising Staff Award for 2025.
The awards ceremony formed part of the Directorate’s annual performance review aimed at motivating staff, strengthening accountability, and improving service delivery across the municipality.
