Kumasi Feb. 10, GNA – Members of the National Association of Muslim Garment Designers (NAMGD), have undertaken a massive clean-up exercise at the Kumasi central mosque to prepare the place for the upcoming Ramadan.
The clean-up exercise, which is done periodically by the group is aimed to preparing the mosque for worship, adhere to Islamic principles of hygiene and cleanliness, particularly in the lead-up to significant events, such as Ramadan.
The group, diligently attended to various areas, including the mosque’s interior, its surroundings, drainage systems, and adjacent streets, and also engaged in painting some sections of the mosque.
Alhaji Aminu Abubakar Chiroma, Chairman of the Association, told the GNA that the initiative formed part of a larger strategy to enhance sanitation at the mosque following its recent renovation.
He noted that, in addition to fostering the spiritual development of the community, Muslims had the responsibility to always ensure a clean environment.


Alhaji Chiroma appealed to members of the Muslim community, who worshipped at the central mosque to refrain from littering and indiscriminate disposal of waste materials within and around the premises.
He expressed gratitude to those who contributed both materially and financially towards the realization of this year’s cleanup initiative.
Sarki Alhaji Ali Abdulai Barry, the Asanteman Zongo Nkosuohene, who participated in the exercise, encouraged the participants to continue their service in the name of Allah.
“Whatever you do in the name of Allah, He will undoubtedly reward you,” he said.
