Sogakope (V/R), Feb 25, GNA — Mr Maxwell Kwame Lukutor, Member of Parliament of the South Tongu Constituency, has donated school uniforms to some 150 needy pupils across selected basic schools in the constituency to promote equitable access to education.

The donation formed part of efforts to support vulnerable pupils and improve their confidence and participation in school.

Mr Lukutor said the beneficiaries were identified during an earlier bicycle donation exercise conducted in partnership with TV3 Ghana, which targeted pupils who travel long distances to attend school in the constituency.

He noted that it was unacceptable for some children to attend classes in worn-out uniforms, stressing that the intervention was aimed at restoring their dignity and creating a conducive learning environment.

The MP encouraged the pupils to remain focused and resilient in their studies, reminding them that their background should not limit their aspirations.

“As a proud product of Kpotame DA Basic School, I am living proof that with determination, discipline and opportunity, our children can compete with the best anywhere in Ghana and beyond,” he said.

Mr Lukutor reiterated that education remained a top priority of his leadership and pledged continued support for initiatives that enhance teaching and learning outcomes in the constituency.

He also called on associations, non-governmental organisations and development partners to collaborate with his office to expand opportunities, strengthen social interventions and promote sustainable development in South Tongu.

Mr Lukutor also expressed optimism that through collective efforts, the constituency would continue to build a stronger, fairer and more prosperous future for its people.
