GES Director-General Commiserates with Dr Apaak

Bolgatanga, Feb.1, GNA – Professor Ernest Kofi Davis, the Director-General (DG) of the Ghana Education Service (GES), has commiserated with Dr Clement Abas Apaak, the Deputy Minister for Education, following the death of his father, Pastor John Azundeem Apaak.

Pastor Apaak passed away on November 4, 2025, at the age of 81.

He is scheduled to be buried today, January 31, at Doninga in the Builsa South District.

In a statement issued by Mr Nathaniel N-yaaba, the Upper East Regional Public Relations Officer of the GES, and shared with the Ghana News Agency in Bolgatanga, noted that the DG was accompanied by Dr Munawaru Issahaque, the Acting Deputy DG in charge of Quality and Access.

The delegation offered their condolences to the Deputy Minister who is also the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Builsa South constituency and his family and prayed for the peaceful repose of Pastor Apaak’s soul.

The statement indicated that, during the visit, the DG interacted with management and key education stakeholders including the leaderships of the Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS) and the Teachers’ and Educational Workers’ Union (TEWU).

Addressing the staff of the GES Regional Office, Professor Davis urged them to continue working with diligence and integrity to enhance the Service’s reputation and further reaffirmed his commitment to improving the welfare of both teaching and non-teaching staff across the country.
