Adidome (V/R), Feb 27, GNA — Mr Guggisberg Fiagbenu, Assembly Member of the Adidome Central Electoral Area, has formally drawn the attention of the police to reported incidents of suspected night-time marauding and stray animal theft in parts of the community.

In a notice addressed to the Police Command in the Central Tongu District, Mr Fiagbenu indicated that the alleged incidents were reported to be occurring around the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses area in Adidome.

He explained that concerns raised by residents and some youth suggested that certain motor riders, believed to be coming from outside the town, were allegedly involved in stealing stray animals during late hours, creating anxiety among community members.

According to the Assembly Member, the notice was intended to formally apprise the police of the situation and to request the necessary security attention to help maintain law and order and protect lives and property.

He noted that some concerns were brought to his attention through complaints from a resident and other concerned youth, highlighting the need for proactive measures and increased surveillance in the affected areas.

“I believe that the police would take stringent actions to curb this menace.  The residents trust their professionalism; hence we expect an urgent clamp-down on this frustrating situation.”

Meanwhile, the Police are yet to assess the concerns raised and take the appropriate steps to ensure security in the area.
