Kasseh, Feb. 27, GNA — The Ada East Business Resource Centre (BRC), under the Rural Enterprises Programme (REP) of the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry, has scheduled a products exhibition in March to showcase locally made goods and promote patronage of Made-in-Ghana products.
The exhibition forms part of the Centre’s efforts to make products from the district more visible and accessible to buyers and potential investors.
Mr Prosper Tetteh Puplampu, the District Director of the Centre, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview that the maiden event would be organised in collaboration with artisans across the district.
Mr Puplampu said many artisans in the area produced high-quality goods, yet residents often travelled to Tema, Accra and even Togo to purchase similar items due to lack of awareness.
“It will surprise you that many people search online or travel outside just to buy soap, smocks, bags and other items; meanwhile, we have producers of almost all these products here in Ada, Sege and surrounding districts,” he said.
He noted that most locally produced items were of high quality and competitively priced, stressing the need to intentionally promote them.
He announced that the week-long exhibition would run from March 25 to April 1, 2026, at the BRC forecourt at Atortorkorpe near the Ada East District Assembly.
Mr Puplampu said registration for exhibitors had opened at the Centre at a fee of GHs200 for participants within the district and GHs300 for those outside Ada East and Ada West.
He added that participants would have opportunities to connect with bulk buyers and potential international partners.
“You might meet someone who will like your products and give you a big contract. We have some of the best artisans in this locality, and we need to expose them to the world,” he said.
Mr Puplampu encouraged artisans and producers to take advantage of the opportunity, describing the exhibition as a major platform for business growth and market expansion.
