Karlsruhe, Germany, Jan 6, (dpaGNA) – Six people were injured when a stairwell of a single-family home collapsed in south-western Germany.
Paramedics and firefighters were on site to attend to a “medical emergency,” police said on Tuesday.
The incident occurred at around 10 am (0900 GMT) in the town of Oppenweiler, near Stuttgart, police said a statement.
The man living in the house as well as a firefighter and a worker of the German Red Cross were seriously injured, while three firefighters also sustained injuries.
The cause of the collapse remains unclear, police said, but added that the house was stable.
Large numbers of emergency forces have been deployed to the scene, including a helicopter
