Organisers of AfroFuture deny gunfire incident

Accra, Jan. 2, GNA – Organisers of the AfroFuture festival have  dismissed online reports of a firearm discharge at this year’s event, describing the claims as “misinformation”. 

The organisers of AfroFuture said in a statement that no gun-related incident occurred on festival grounds, and there was no security disruption linked to the event. 

The group added that it had informed the Ghana Police Service about the false reports. 

“AfroFuture operates with comprehensive safety protocols in place, including professional security teams and coordinated emergency response planning. 

“The safety and well-being of our guests, artists, staff, and families is our highest priority. 

“We want to reassure our community that AfroFuture remains a safe, family-friendly environment rooted in celebration, culture, and joy,” the statement said. 

AfroFuture concluded its latest edition with the likes of Asake, Rema, Moliy and King Paluta, among others, thrilling the thousands of patrons who gathered at the El-Wak Sports Stadium for the two-day festival. 

The festival, formerly known as Afrochella, is organised by Culture Management Group LLC, which focuses on promoting African creative talent through events and cultural showcases.
