Member of Parliament for Hohoe Constituency outdoors 2026 priority projects

Hohoe (V/R), Jan. 8, GNA – Mr Thomas Worlanyo Tsekpo, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Hohoe Constituency, has outdoored priority projects for the Constituency for this year, 2026. 

The projects range from education, health, industrialization and employment, women empowerment, youth in apprenticeship programme, agriculture, media and communication development, communication network upgrade, sports and entertainment, tourism to governance. 

Mr Tsekpo, addressing the media during his maiden “Meeting the Press” said, under education in 2026, there would be a dedication of GH₵500,000 for scholarship, there would be an ultra-modern ICT lab for the Santa Esther Senior High School at Wli. 

He said his office would collaborate with the Assembly to construct 6-Unit classroom for Wli Todzi Primary School, building the Fodome Senior High School starting from scratch, construct a 12-unit classroom block and ultra-modern ICT lab for Evangelical Presbyterian Technical Institute, Alavanyo. 

Mr Tsekpo said there would be supply of 1,000 desks and 12-unit toilet facility for the Hohoe EP Senior High School, a 2,500-capacity dining hall and kitchen for Alavanyo Senior High/Technical and begin Smart lab project for 12 basic schools from the traditional areas within the constituency. 

He said under health, facilities at Hohoe Gborxome, Gbi Avega and Wli Dzogbega would be completed, the Adabraka Health Centre would be fenced, there would be a new nurses’ quarters at Alavanyo Wudidi, the Kpoeta Health Centre would be expanded with maternity ward while the Wli Afegame would also be expanded. 

Mr Tsekpo said he would collaborate with the Assembly to operationalise the Gbi Industrial Light area, establish the National Signal Bureau Training School, and put up cocoa and ginger processing factories. 

He said there would be a one million Ghana Cedi seed money for “Next Level Women Empowerment Fund” to be launched in 2026 to support women in business; target 500 youth in apprenticeship programme and 500 for various modules under the Youth Employment Agency. 

Mr Tsekpo said under agriculture, there would be an expansion of palm nut plantations, fertiliser and irrigation support for farmers and ginger farming projects. 

Also, there would be dedicated scholarships for media personnel, professional training and upgrade of Bloggers and launching of Municipal Media Personality Award Scheme for the year.  

Mr Tsekpo said there would be a communication network upgrade in the Fodome Amle enclave, Gbledi, Alavanyo Abehenease/Wudidi and Alavanyo Dzogbedze. 

Also, new markets would be constructed, and major local markets would also be upgraded; community sports facilities would be constructed, including mini stadia at St Francis College of Education and Alavanyo to help in youth talent development through sports as well as through entertainment. 

Mr Tsekpo said under tourism, there are plans to complete the Art Centre at the Wli Waterfalls and associated projects and build a museum for the first Miss Ghana in Alavanyo Dzogbedze. 

He said he would facilitate confirmation of Metropolitan status for Hohoe, establish an office of the Member of Parliament for Hohoe Constituency to ensure efficient and effective governance. 

Mr Tsekpo expressed gratitude to the media, traditional authorities and other stakeholders for the support to develop the constituency. 

Mr Prosper Kumi, Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), underscored the collaborative work done within the first year of the administration, adding that the progress of the Municipality was very important. 

He said the constituency had not had any MP committed to their duty like Mr Tsekpo who also believed in President John Dramani Mahama’s Reset Agenda.
