Koforidua, Oct. 24, GNA – Constituency executive elections of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have proceeded peacefully in 31 of the 33 constituencies in the Eastern Region, with the remaining two scheduled to vote on Sunday.

Mr Frederick Atenas Kwofi, Acting Eastern Regional Elections Director of the NDC, disclosed this to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Koforidua.

He said elections in Akwapim South and Akwatia constituencies would be held on October 25, 2026.

The two-day elections are scheduled for October 24 and 25.

Mr Kwofi said monitoring at polling centres showed that candidates and delegates had complied with the rules and conducted themselves appropriately.

“As I go round to monitor the elections at the various polling centres, I must commend all the candidates. Although there could have been concerns about cheating or the creation of chaos, the voting process has remained calm, and we expect it to continue peacefully,” he said.

He said the party had strengthened security at polling centres because of growing interest among young people in contesting party positions.

Mr Kwofi added that the party had held meetings with the Ghana Police Service, which had deployed personnel to election centres across the region to maintain law and order.
