Sydney, Jan 21, (dpa/GNA) – A man was rushed to an Australian hospital, following a crocodile attack in north Queensland on Tuesday.
Emergency services were called to the incident on Tuesday morning, after reports of an animal-related incident.
“A stable patient was transported to Ingham Hospital, following reports of a crocodile incident at a location near Ingham Forrest Beach Road,” the Queensland Ambulance Service said on X.
Australian media outlets cited a Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson as saying that the man sustained puncture wounds to his hip, legs, and one of his hands.
The area where the attack happened is known as “Croc Country,” a known crocodile habitat.
The attack comes amid a push from the Queensland government to remove more of the reptiles in the state.
The government said between July 2001 and December 2025, there have been 16 fatal and 28 non-fatal crocodile attacks on humans in the state.
