Accra, Jan. 13, GNA – Ghana received high commendation from international visitors during the 2025 Christmas festivities for the friendliness of staff and the quality of services offered at its airport.
Mr Joseph Bukari Nipke, the Minister of Transport, who made the disclosure when he appeared before the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament on Tuesday, said the positive feedback underscored Ghana’s growing reputation as a welcoming destination.
He noted that visitors consistently gave “thumbs up” to the country for the professionalism and warmth displayed by airport staff, which contributed to a smooth travel experience.
The Managing Director of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), Madam Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, highlighted Ghana’s competitive standing in terms of service cost.
She revealed that the GACL ranked fourth in Africa and 15th globally, a position that reflected the company’s commitment to affordability and efficiency.
Madam Opare, however, stressed the need for further investment in airport infrastructure to match the standards set by leading African aviation hubs such as Morocco, Egypt, and South Africa.
She explained that modern facilities and expanded capacity would be critical in sustaining Ghana’s progress and enhancing its appeal as a preferred travel destination.
The Ministry of Transport and GACL reaffirmed their dedication to improving passenger experience, noting that continued collaboration and infrastructure development would ensure Ghana remains competitive in the globally.
