Prampram, July 17, GNA – The Ningo-Prampram District Assembly has distributed 1,400 pieces of classroom furniture to selected public basic schools in the district to improve teaching and learning conditions.
The exercise, undertaken with support from Apollo Steel Company, forms part of the Assembly’s efforts to address furniture shortages and improve educational infrastructure in public schools.
The furniture comprised 350 dual desks, 300 mono desks, 100 hexagonal tables with 600 matching chairs, and 50 teachers’ tables with accompanying chairs.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Mr Raphael Uriel Nartey, the Ningo-Prampram District Chief Executive, said the furniture would be used to equip newly completed classroom blocks while easing the shortage of desks in beneficiary schools.
He urged school authorities to ensure the furniture was properly maintained and safeguarded against damage and theft to prolong its lifespan.
Mr Nartey said the Assembly would continue to collaborate with the private sector to improve educational infrastructure and provide a more conducive teaching and learning environment for pupils.
Representatives of the beneficiary schools expressed appreciation to the Assembly and Apollo Steel Company for the support, saying the intervention would significantly improve classroom conditions and enhance teaching and learning.
The beneficiary schools are St Dominic RC, Afienya D/A, Mataheko D/A B, Prampram D/A B, Freeman Methodist, Lakpleku D/A, Ayetepa D/A B, Old Ningo D/A A, Ayetepa D/A A, New Ningo Basic A, New Ningo Basic C, Mobole D/A, Kpatserimidor D/A, Prampram D/A A, Dawhenya South, and Kpohe D/A.
