Banda Ahenkro (Bono), Jan. 1, GNA – Mr Ahmed Ibrahim, the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, has entreated Ghanaians to be more patriotic by offering voluntary services for the country’s development.
He emphasised the need for collective effort in support of building a better Ghana, saying “with God on our side, this vision will come to pass”.
Speaking in an interview with the media as part of his 2026 New Year message at Banda Ahenkro, Mr Ibrahim, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for the Banda Constituency , expressed his heartfelt wishes for all Ghanaians for good health and prosperity in 2026 and beyond, as it has been the desire of God for everyone to prosper and be in good health.
As part of his New Year celebrations, the Minister joined congregants at the Methodist Church Ghana, Wenchi Diocese Banda Circuit, and later worshipped with the Church of Pentecost Central and English Assembly in Banda during the 31st Watch Night service.
Mr Ibrahim urged the citizens to embrace the ethical values outlined in the Bible principles such as obeying universal laws, avoiding harmful behaviors, showing discipline, fearing God, respecting time and loving one another.
He encouraged the youth to involved God in their plansand to enter the new year with purpose, for God to open doors of opportunities for them.
In his sermon, Pastor Daniel Damatey Donu, District Pastor of the Church of Pentecost Central and English Assembly, urged the congregation to invest in personal growth, because mistakes in life could never be corrected.
He added that God’s blessings often follow action, asking them to take an initiative and work diligently to rewrite their own story.
