Kasseh, Jan. 30, GNA – Mr Ebenezer Teye-Nartey Kisseh, the Ada Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has affirmed the party’s readiness to conduct a peaceful, transparent and credible presidential primary on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the Ada Foah Dove Park.

Mr Kisseh said a total of 524 accredited delegates were expected to participate in the exercise and would be the only persons eligible to vote.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) he indicated that security arrangements, electoral logistics and other sensitive matters had been handled at the national level, leaving the constituency with the responsibility of ensuring that delegates turn up to vote peacefully.

He disclosed that strict measures had been put in place to prevent the bussing of delegates to the venue, stressing that the police would be on high alert and deal firmly with anyone who flouted against the laid-down protocols.

Mr Kisseh advised delegates to conduct themselves peacefully by casting their ballots and leaving the venue, with the option of returning later for the counting process or following proceedings through the media.

He acknowledged that some political rhetoric and use of offensive language by certain aspirants and supporters during the campaign period was unfortunate, but assured party members of adequate security to ensure peace before, during and after the election.

He further urged agents of the various candidates to remain vigilant but peaceful and to conduct themselves responsibly to preserve unity within the party.

“The 2028 general election is the bigger picture. This exercise is only to elect our flagbearer, and once that is done, we must come together as one party because no candidate can win alone,” he said.
