Traders advised against Christmas price hikes

By Daniel Agbesi Latsu

Kadjebi (O/R), Dec. 16, GNA – Madam Vida Aku Amanu, Financial Secretary of the Kadjebi Market Women Association, has urged traders across the country to eschew unjustified price hikes during the Christmas festivities.

She said the yuletide was a season of love, sharing and compassion, and cautioned traders against exploiting consumers through arbitrary increases in the prices of goods and services.

Madam Amanu noted that many families were already grappling with economic difficulties and that excessive price increases would worsen their plight and dampen the joy associated with the season.

She said traders who maintained fair pricing would not only attract more customers but also build trust and foster long-term relationships with their clients.

Madam Amanu made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at the Kadjebi Market in the Oti Region.

She appealed to traders to view moderate pricing as their contribution to national cohesion and urged regulatory authorities to intensify market monitoring to prevent undue exploitation during the festive season.
