Dambai (O/R), July 10, GNA – The rehabilitation of the road linking Cement through Kpogede, Aziziakpe, Ndoku Kope and Agbe Kope in the Krachi East Municipality has brought relief to residents and motorists after years of poor road conditions.
The rehabilitation works, undertaken under the supervision of the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Safo Nketia, and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Krachi East, Mr Nelson Kofi Djabab, have significantly improved accessibility along the stretch.
The improved road is expected to facilitate the smooth movement of vehicles, agricultural produce, and heavy machinery, while enhancing transportation and commercial activities within the beneficiary communities.
Residents and commuters have welcomed the intervention, describing it as timely and beneficial to the socio-economic development of the area.
Some residents told the Ghana News Agency that the poor condition of the road had, for years, hindered the movement of people and goods, particularly during the rainy season.
They said the situation had negatively affected trading activities and access to essential services, including healthcare and education.
Mr Nketia said the rehabilitation formed part of the Assembly’s commitment to improving critical road infrastructure to promote economic growth and enhance the living conditions of residents.
He noted that improved road networks were essential for facilitating transportation, expanding economic opportunities, and supporting the development agenda of the municipality.
Mr Nketia expressed optimism that the upgraded road would boost trade, ease transportation challenges and contribute substantially to the overall development of the municipality.
Residents have expressed gratitude to the authorities for responding to their long-standing concerns and called for the continued improvement of road infrastructure across the municipality.
