Dambai (O/R) Dec. 8, GNA – The deplorable state of T.I. Ahmadiyya Basic school in Dambai of the Krachi East Municipality, has sparked an urgent appeal for intervention from government and Muslim charities worldwide.
The T.I. Ahmadiyya school is educating 736 students with the support of a committed team of educators and staff comprising 19 permanent teachers, 7 National Service Personnel and 16 student teachers from Dambai College of Education (DACE) Macro programme.
The school’s infrastructure crisis, marked by defaecation in classrooms, demands immediate attention to rescue students from an unsafe learning environment.
The school faces severe infrastructure deficiency, including inadequate classrooms, furniture, and sanitation facilities, compromising students’ safety and education quality.
A visit by the Ghana News Agency (GNA) to the school revealed the harsh realities face by students due to inadequate infrastructure.
Students were seen sitting on one side of the pavilion, trying to escape the direct sun and as the day progressed, they had to reposition themselves to avoid the shifting sun rays, highlighting the school’s struggle with insufficient classrooms space and facilities.
A teacher who spoke to the Ghana News Agency on anonymity expressed frustration over recurring incidents to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), emphasissng the need for urgent action.
He urged education stakeholders, community members, and school administration are urging the government and international Muslim charities to intervene.
Given the school’s affiliation with the Ahmadiyya Muslim community, there is a special appeal to Muslim charities and organisations globally to extend a helping hand.
He appealed to the government to prioritise infrastructure development at the school. It is crucial for the government to step in and address these gaps to ensure quality education for all children.
