Aflao (V/R), July 9, GNA — A total of 33 aspirants have been cleared to contest various executive positions in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ketu South Constituency elections scheduled for Saturday, July 11, 2026.

Mr Michael Equagoo, Constituency Secretary, told the Ghana News Agency that 35 persons initially expressed interest in the contest, but two were disqualified for failing to meet the party’s eligibility requirements.

He said 2,078 polling station executives, together with former executives, veterans and elders of the party, would constitute the electoral college to vote in the exercise.

Mr Equagoo noted that the qualified aspirants were currently campaigning ahead of the polls, expressing confidence in securing mandates to serve as constituency executives.

He said the party had put in place the necessary arrangements in line with its electoral guidelines to ensure a smooth and credible process.

He added that the Ketu Divisional Police Command had assured the party of adequate security to safeguard the election.

Mr Equagoo appealed to party members and observers to conduct themselves peacefully before, during and after the elections.

“This is a family contest, and we expect all to exercise restraint and uphold the unity of the party,” he said.

The election is expected to choose new constituency executives to steer the affairs of the party in Ketu South.
