Dwomo ( WR)Dec. 12, GNA – Mr. Joseph Nelson, the Western Regional Minister, has advised contractors selected for projects within the Shama District to be effective in meeting the deliverables.
He said, “ Our communities deserve the best of amenities to ameliorate lives challenges and we cannot afford to see that their contributions in the form of taxes is abused by any one individual…no shoddy works, I will personally come back to monitor.”
Mr. Nelson said this during a sod cutting ceremony at Dwomo in the Shama district to begin some infrastructure development in selected communities within the districts.
Already, the District Assembly had benefitted from a 7-million cedi initial capital out of 24 million cedis allocated by the President for such local development.
The amount, Mr. Otis Dentu, the District Chief Executive, announced would be used for Schools, CHPS , boreholes among other capital intensive projects.


He said, “Our assembly is committed to using the People’s monies to serve their interest”.
Mr. Dentu said the 14 different projects were arrived at after an extensive consultation through town hall and community engagements for real needs to be prioritised.
He said all procurement systems and processes were duly followed to select qualified contractors.
Mr. Bills Kingsley, Director for the B2K company Limited , contractors of the CHPS project at Dwomo, assured the community that the company would work within the six months schedule.
He said the CHPS Compound when completed would have nurses quarters, maternity, offices, OPD and other ancillary facilities.
Nana Nkuntan II, the Chief of Dwomo, was gratified that the community could soon boast of a decent place to seek medical care.
He prayed the contractors to execute quality Job that would last for a long period.
