Ho (V/R), Dec.17, GNA – The International Justice Mission (IJM) is working to bolster Ghana’s justice system, focusing on effective responses to crimes such as trafficking and exploitation.
At a training session with journalists from the Oti and Volta Regions, Mr Richard Offei, the Senior Coordinator for Church Mobilisation of IJM, said the entity was focused on partnerships and capacity-building.
During the training, the IJM team shared video insights on their ongoing projects which focused on combating child trafficking, particularly in fishing communities along the Volta Lake and River Oti.
This highlighted the alarming realities of children being exploited in hazardous labour and the need for collaborative efforts to rescue, rehabilitate, and reintegrate victims.
Mr Offei emphasised the importance of stakeholder awareness and urged journalists’ advocacy and legal reform, to strengthen child protection mechanisms across the country.

Madam Yaa Nyarko Asamoah, a Senior Manager at International Justice Mission (IJM), led an insightful session on Ghana’s trafficking laws.
She educated participants how the laws addressed exploitation and protected vulnerable populations.
In addition, participants were empowered with knowledge to tackle trafficking, by effectively applying their understanding of laws to boost anti- trafficking efforts in Ghana.
