Hohoe (V/R), June 17, GNA – The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP)  says the party is well organised and united ahead of the 2028 general elections.

Mr George Boateng, Volta Regional Representative on the Election Committee that supervised the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) polling station and electoral area elections in the Hohoe Constituency, said on wednesday.

He said the successful conduct of the elections, coupled with the peaceful behaviour of candidates, delegates and party members, demonstrated the unity and strength of the party.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Boateng noted that the party had expanded its electoral area structure by introducing positions such as Chairman, Secretary, Communications Officer, Electoral Affairs Officer and Organiser, replacing the previous arrangement where only an Electoral Area Coordinator existed.

He described the electoral process as peaceful, stating that no major incidents were recorded and that the outcomes had largely been accepted by contestants and supporters.

“Although every election may generate some level of dissatisfaction, the overall process was successful and peaceful,” he said.

Mr Boateng said the party had emerged more united and was poised to mobilise its members and the general public in support of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the party’s flagbearer, ahead of the 2028 elections.

He urged newly elected officers to reach out to their contenders and supporters to foster reconciliation and work together to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.

Mr Boateng also said the party would continue to maintain cordial relations with traditional authorities, the Electoral Commission, the media, Assembly Members, security agencies and religious bodies, describing them as key stakeholders in the party’s development agenda.

Mr Daniel Noble Awume, a former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Hohoe and a member of the Election Committee, said the successful conduct of the elections without any major challenges was encouraging.

He said the polling station and electoral area elections had repositioned the party in the constituency to work towards recapturing political power in 2028.

Mr Richard Atise, elected Secretary for the Torkoni/Trevi Electoral Area, pledged that the new executives would work hard to unite members and advance the objectives of the party.
