Accra, Dec. 14, GNA – The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and allied security agencies have conducted a coordinated vehicular “Show of Force” across Accra to demonstrate inter‑agency readiness ahead of the Christmas festivities.

The exercise, which began at the Black Star Square and moved through major routes in the capital, aimed to balance visible deterrence with civilian protection as agencies prepare for increased movement and commercial activity during the festive period.

Mr Ernest Brogya Genfi, the Deputy Minister of Defence, said the mechanised route march was intended to reassure citizens of the agencies’ preparedness to protect them rather than to intimidate.

He commended the unity and professionalism displayed by the security agencies and reaffirmed government’s commitment to modern equipment, enhanced training, and improved welfare for personnel.

Service chiefs present, including Lieutenant General William Agyapong, Chief of the Defence Staff, and Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, Inspector‑General of Police, lauded the initiative, which would strengthen operational readiness, deter criminal activity and test joint planning and logistics.

Lt. Gen. Agyapong praised the participating agencies for their cooperation and urged continued vigilance as the festive season approached.
