Minister promises enhanced infrastructure development in Bono Region

Sunyani (Bono), Nov. 12, GNA – Mr Ahmed Ibrahim, the Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs promised the chiefs and people of the Bono Region of enhanced infrastructure development, under President John Dramini Mahama’s administration. 
 
He said the 2025-2026 budget outlined key development plans that would be translated into massive development nationwide, saying the Bono Region was expected to benefit substantially. 
 
Mr Ibrahim, also the Member of Parliament (MP) for Banda constituency in the region, said President Mahama remained committed to executing the reset Ghana agenda to spur rapid socio-economic growth and sustainable development. 
 
The sector minister gave the promise when he paid courtesy to the Bono Regional House of Chiefs in Sunyani, saying the government had initiated several nationwide infrastructure projects that would be executed in phases. 
 
Mr Ibrahim announced that the construction of the government’s 24-hour market was set to commence in December this year, saying consultants had completed the necessary groundworks for construction works to begin. 
 
He urged absolute unity among traditional authorities in the region, stressing that “this is a pivotal moment for the development of the Bono region and that can only be materialized through a collective and unified front”. 
 
Mr Joseph Addae Akwaboa, the Bono Regional Minister said the government was undertaking several projects, comprising initiatives in health, education, economic development and sanitation and spread across the 12 politically administrative districts and municipalities in the region. 
 
Osagyefo Oseadeyo Agyemang Badu II, the President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs and the Paramount Chief of the Dormaa Traditional Area, called on the government to expedite action for the resumption of work on the abandoned Agenda 111 District projects initiated by the previous administration. 
 
He said those projects ought to be completed to save the nation from financial waste.
