Ajumako Amia (C/R), Nov 06, GNA – Mr Anthony Inkoom, a 57-year-old self-employed man of Twidam Clan has been installed Omankrado of Ajumako Amia under the stool name, Nana Acquah Ogomon V.
He would help spearhead the socio-economic development of the area.
Nana Acquah Ogomon succeeded his late uncle, Omankrado Kwesi Boahen Ogomon IV, who died some 21 years ago.
He was earlier in the day, carried in a palanquin through the principal streets of Amia Township to the Musuban Shrine amidst drumming, dancing and singing where libation was poured and some rituals performed.
He was then taken to the durbar ground of the town where he took the oath of allegiance before Nana Kwesi Apo I, Odikro of Amia and his Queen Mother, the elders, opinion leaders and the Oman (State).
The New Omankrado had earlier gone through all the customary and traditional rites.
So, the family head, Nana Obiri Yeboah and other members of the town, led by the Odikro, proceeded to Ajumako Traditional Council.
There, Ebusuapayin Yeboah introduced Nana Ogomon V, to the members of the traditional council and presented him to Okokodurefo Ogyeabo Kwamena Hammah Ababio II, Paramount Chief of Ajumako and President of the Ajumako- Enyan-Essiam Traditional Council.
Nana Ogomon V, later took the oath of allegiance, office, secrecy and swore before Okokodurefo Hammah Ababio and the entire members of the traditional council.
Per the tradition and custom of the area, Okokodurefo Hammah Ababio gave the new Omankrado a drink to drink to symbolise his installation and acceptance into the traditional council.
Addressing the gathering later, Okokodurefo Hammah Ababio urged the new Omankrado to respect his Odikro and elders, as well as all persons living in the community to receive the same from them.
He urged him to serve the people and not to lord it over them.
He should also collaborate with all for peace and cohesion.
Later in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at the ceremony, the Ajumako Amia Omankrado thanked his family members and all who in diverse ways contributed towards his outdooring and installation.
He further said his topmost priority was to support the Paramount Chief, his Odikro and the traditional council to execute meaningful policies and programme to improve the lots of the people of Amia.
The Omankrado stated that his doors were opened to receiving fruitful suggestions and ideas that would help him to discharge his duties as the Omankrado of Ajumako Amia.
