Women in Planning condole Rawlings’ Family

Sunyani, (Bono), Oct. 27, GNA – Women in planning at the Sunyani Zone of the Ghana Institute of Planning (GIP) have expressed their sympathy to the Rawlings family for the passing of the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang-Rawlings. 
 
They described the late Nana Konadu as an exceptional female politician in a statement issued and jointly signed by Planners Gifty Nyarko, the Sunyani Zonal Secretary and Athonia Ayamga, Sunyani Zonal organiser of the GIP. 
 
A copy of the statement made available to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani said, “The late Agyemang-Rawlings has left an indelible mark every young female and development- oriented politician must look at.” 
 
It explained that the late former First Lady spearheaded an undoubted national development agenda through education, saying, “her legacy is worth emulation.” 
 
The statement observed that the late Agyemang-Rawlings pivotal role in championing women socio-economic development and empowerment was exceptional and inspired young women to emulate her traits and entrepreneurial drive. 
 
It said, “The Agyemang-Rawlings remains an icon and reference point for all women, both in politics and entrepreneurship.” 

The late Nana Agyemang-Rawlings died on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge Hospital), in Accra.
