Twifo Attorkrom (C/R), Oct. 28, GNA- Residents of Twifo Attorkrom in the Twifo- Atti-Morkwa District of the Central Region, have expressed deep frustration over the deplorable condition of their road, describing it as a “death trap.”
This is because, the current usage of the road endangered lives, particularly, pregnant women transported to the hospital during labour.
Some women, the residents lamented, had lost their lives due to the community’s poor road network.
The residents appealed to the Member of Parliament or the area, Mr David Vondee, and the District Chief Executive, Mr Isaac Yawson to heed to their appeals for the road to be fixed.
According to them, despite several promises made during the 2024 campaign period, no action had been taken, and they felt deceived and abandoned.
The situation, they added, had been unbearable, as students were unable to use the road whenever it rained, cutting them off from school and essential services.
The residents called for immediate intervention to construct the road, emphasising that their patience had run out, after consistently voting for change, but were yet to see any sign of development in return.
The chief of Twifo Attorkrom, Nana Thomas Klomegah, also voiced his disappointment over the government’s disregard for the community’s welfare.
He questioned whether they were not Ghanaian citizens who deserved basic infrastructure like good roads.
Despite his repeated efforts to reach out to the authorities, he said, there had been no meaningful response or progress.
He said the community’s hoped for change had yielded nothing, leaving residents disillusioned and desperate for action.
