Dzodze (V/R), Oct. 04, GNA – The Entity Tender Committee of the Ketu North Municipal Assembly, chaired by Rev. Martin Amenaki, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has conducted the official opening of bids submitted by contractors for various development projects advertised by the Assembly.

The projects under consideration include the construction of two Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compounds, two classroom blocks, four mechanised boreholes with overhead tanks, four skip containers, and the completion of existing school infrastructure across selected communities within the Municipality.

The exercise, which also served as a session of the Tender Opening Committee, formed part of the Assembly’s efforts to ensure fairness, transparency, and compliance with public procurement regulations.

During the session, all bids received were publicly opened in the presence of committee members, technical officers, and representatives of bidding contractors.

The prices and details of submissions for each lot were read aloud to promote openness and accountability.

This transparent procedure, according to officials, is meant to foster confidence among participants and safeguard the integrity of the procurement process.

Rev. Amenaki, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA), explained that the next stage of the process would involve a comprehensive evaluation of the bids.

This phase would focus on examining the technical competence, financial capacity, past performance, and compliance of each contractor.

“The Assembly is committed to selecting only the most qualified and cost-effective contractors who can deliver quality infrastructure within the stipulated timelines. Our guiding principles remain transparency, value for money, and community benefit,” he stated.

Some contractors who spoke to the GNA after the session commended the Assembly for the transparent process, describing it as fair and professional.

They expressed optimism about being considered for some of the projects and reaffirmed their commitment to delivering quality work if selected.

The Ketu North Municipal Assembly has intensified its infrastructure development agenda, particularly in the education, health, and water sectors, aimed at improving the living standards of residents and accelerating local development.
