Gomoa Ajumako installs new Dabiwhene to enhance peace and development

 Gomoa Ajumako (C/R), Oct 20, Nana Kobena Abban Ewudze VI, Chief of Gomoa Ekroful has been given an additional responsibility as the new Dabiwhene of Gomoa Ajumako Traditional Area.  

He is tasked with creating wealth and promoting employment.  

Known in private life as Mr Kobena Abban Ewudze, an Executive Businessman, Nana Ewudze VI, succeeded his late uncle, Nana Abban Ewudze V, who died last year.   

He swore an oath of allegiance before Obrempon Nyanful Krampah XI, Omanhene of Gomoa Ajumako, Divisional chiefs and Queen mothers as tradition and custom demanded.  

Earlier, the Divisional Chiefs had a word of advice to the new chief and admonished him not to lord it over his subjects or put up a behaviour contrary to the rules and regulations governing the chieftaincy institution.  

Obrempon Nyanful Krampah cautioned him against using his power and authority to suppress the inhabitants but to bring peace, security, development and transformation to his people.  

He admonished the new Divisional chief to be humble, respect the entire inhabitants of the town, the Queenmother and head of family to foster a united front for the development of the area.  

The Overlord of Gomoa Ajumako further tasked the new Chief to spearhead the necessary developmental programmes in the area to transform lives.  

Nana Abban Ewudze on his part, expressed gratitude to Obrempong Nyanful Krampah, Divisional Chiefs, the Queenmother, his family members and the entire inhabitants of Gomoa Ekroful for rallying behind his installation.  

According to the new Divisional Chief of Gomoa Ajumako, as a business executive, he would do everything possible to ensure that the youth in the Area gained employment.  

He appealed to investors both home and abroad to invest in the town to create jobs and wealth to improve the living standards of the people.  

The Chief said some brilliant children in the town had become dropouts due to financial constraints to further their education. It was therefore his utmost priority to institute an educational fund to support brilliant but needy students in the town.   

Nana Abban Ewudze said his next vision was to mobilise resources together with the inhabitants to complete a community centre project.  

On substance abuse, Nana Ewudze said series of education campaign would be held to sensitise the youth about the dangers of hard drugs, and after that anyone found indulging in it would be arrested and handed over to the law enforcement agencies.  

He cautioned the youth to stay focused on their educational pursuit which was key to human development   

Nana Ekua Arhinma II, Dabiwhemaa of Gomoa Ajumako and Queen mother of Ekroful, urged parents to monitor their adolescent daughters and educate them to abstain from premarital sex to avert teen pregnancy.  

She said it was their duty as parents to ensure that after their daughters studied their books, using Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, Ghana’s Vice President as their mentor.  

 Nana Arhima  asked women to take advantage of the breast cancer awareness month to visit any health facility to check their breasts to avoid the disease.  

The Queen mother warned the youth to stop using social media to insult the President and other prominent people just because they wanted to trend, saying it was disgusting.  

The Dabiwhemaa, added her voice to the outrageous substance abuse among the youth and urged them to desist from such behaviours, saying it would ruin their health and future if that practice continued.
