Duamenefa Foundation organises skills training workshop for members

Dzodze (VR), Sep 4, GNA – Duamenefa Foundation, a non-profit organisation founded by Dzodze local radio station Fafaa FM, in the Ketu North Municipality of the Volta Region, has organised free skill acquisition workshop for its members. 

The training, which was in collaboration with Treasures of His Eyes, a UK-based non-governmental organisation, was aimed at empowering members with various skills to curb unemployment and poverty rate in the area. 

Reverend Adefunke Adeoye, Country Director of Treasures of His Eyes, who facilitated the training, said the move was to encourage participants to put the skills and training acquired into practice to help create impacts in their various societies. 

“Over 200 participants from various communities attended the training, they learnt how to make liquid and bar soap, Vaseline as well as some farming tips,” he said. 

Rev. Adeoye told the Ghana News Agency, in an interview that the collaboration between the “Duamenefa Foundation” and the Treasures of His Eyes would continue to impact on the communities and urged participants to prioritise skill training to impact on the societies. 

She explained that the Duamenefa Foundation also focused on social intervention to save the vulnerable and promote peaceful coexistence among the public and was registered with the USA government as 501C3, while foundation continues to register volunteers in various communities in the Volta Region and online. 

“This skills acquisition programme is our annual event which demonstrates the commitment to empower members and promote development in the region. 

The foundation’s efforts have been recognised, and it has partnered with other organisations, such as the Tanko Foundation, established by Mr. Kormigah Tanko Attorkple, the Council of State Member, to transform lives in the Volta Region.” 

Rev. Adeoye said the partnership between Duamenefa Foundation and Treasures of His Eyes has shown positive results by providing participants with valuable skills to improve their livelihoods which aligned with the foundation’s objective of promoting peaceful coexistence and social intervention. 

Some participants GNA engaged expressed gratitude to the organisers and promised to use their skills to empower other community members. 

They said the foundation’s objective in promoting peace and providing support to vulnerable communities was notable, and its collaboration with Treasures of His Eyes was a step towards achieving its goals to contribute to the growth of the region and beyond.  

GNA also gathered that the registration for ‘Duamenefa’ Foundation membership drive was ongoing, and interested individuals could get registered online or in their communities through the extensive network of volunteers to make a positive impact in the Volta Region. 

Over 100 people also took the opportunity to join the Duamenefa Foundation during the training, while the foundation has over 48,000 registered and certified volunteers across the region.
