Church ends a day’s lesson on trumpet ceremony to prepare for Atonement Day Celebration

Otiakrom, Sept.3, GNA – The Seventh Day Theocratic World Congregation has concluded a one-day intensive teaching session on the Trumpet Ceremony, held at its Sabbath grounds near Aburi in the Eastern Region.

The session was in preparation for the upcoming Atonement Day celebration scheduled for September 7.

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) after the event, Apostle Dr. E.H. Agbalenyo, Founder and Leader of the church, said the trumpet ceremony marked a critical spiritual ordinance established by the Almighty God Himself in the wilderness for the sanctification of lawful worship periods.

He explained that the blowing of the trumpet was not merely ceremonial, but a divine command originally given to the children of Israel and extended to the Judaic-Christian community.

“Without the sanctification of sacrifice by the trumpet, such offerings will not be accepted by the Almighty God,” he said, citing the biblical example of Cain’s rejected offering in Genesis 4:3–7.

According to Apostle Agbalenyo, the Trumpet Ceremony serves to dedicate and memorialize all lawful sacrifices before God, including, the daily prayers, observed at the third and ninth hours of the day, the Seventh Day Sabbath, the New Months, the Feast of Passover, the Feast of Weeks, the Atonement Day, and the Feast of Tabernacles (Numbers 28:1–2).

He said this divine command serves as a distinguishing ordinance between the Hebraic community and the Gentile community, noting that Gentile societies often disregarded the Creator and dishonoured sacred worship.

“It is the duty of the ministers of the Almighty God to continue preaching and gathering the scattered children of the Lord God of our fathers, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,” he said.

Apostle Agbalenyo said the mission of the Congregation was to build the Kingdom of Yahweh on earth (Matthew 6:6–9), and to reveal the knowledge of the Creator to the Gentile world (Psalm 115:1–8).

He warned that if the Judaic-Christian community was judged on the Day of Judgment without warning, it could lead the Gentile nations to question the integrity of God (Exodus 32:7–14).

“Therefore, the Trumpet Day is instituted as a divine proclamation and warning, commanded to both Mosaic and Messianic congregations (Isaiah 58:1–3).”

“Even though the Day of Atonement is observed on the 10th of Ethanim, the Trumpet Ceremony on the first day of the same month prepares believers through repentance and spiritual reflection,” Apostle Agbalenyo stated, referencing Romans 2:20–24 and Numbers 29:5–6.

The event attracted church members from across the country and abroad, as the congregation intensifies its spiritual readiness ahead of one of its most sacred annual observances.
