Accra, May 26, GNA – The Bank of Ghana has directed Mobile Money Fintech Limited (MMFL) to pause the implementation of its proposed 0.75 per cent fee on direct wallet-to-bank transfers, effective June 1, 2026.
In a statement issued in Accra, the Bank said it had asked MMFL to hold off to allow for further consultations.
It said the decision reflected its commitment to ensuring that any changes to charges in the mobile financial services ecosystem were introduced fairly, protected consumers, and supported their financial wellbeing.
MMFL issued a circular to customers on Monday, May 25, 2026, informing them of the 0.75 per cent fee, capped at GH¢5, for all wallet-to-bank transfers beginning June 1. It said the fee was to help it continue to serve customers better.
