Gbi-Kledzo (V/R), Aug. 08, GNA – The Rotary Club of Ho, has commissioned and handed over some transformative projects to the Precious Pearls Preparatory School in Gbi-Kledzo community in the Hohoe Municipality of the Volta region.
This included a well-stocked library, ICT laboratory with computers and washrooms.
The Club, as part of the projects, also commissioned a mechanised borehole and provided a 1,000 litre Rambo polytank for water storage for the Kledzo Community.
The projects were estimated at a total cost of GH₵450,000.
Mr Maxwell Wallahs Affram, the President of the Rotary Club of Ho, said the projects were made possible through its partnership the Rotary Club of Northern Allegheny in collaboration of the House of Hope Ministry, Ghana and USA and with general support from the Rotary Foundation.
He said the drilling and mechanisation of a borehole for the Gbi-Kledzo community marked a major step in ensuring access to clean and safe water; a fundamental human right which had significantly improved health, hygiene and overall well-being, especially for women and children who were mostly affected by water insecurity.

Mr Affram said the Club renovated and equipped the computer laboratory and library of the school, to greatly enhance the quality of education offered by improving access to digital tools and reading resources.
He said the Club was not just improving learning outcomes but empowering young minds with the skills they needed to strive in the modern world.
“We are deeply grateful to our partners; the Club of Northern Allegheny, House of Hope Ministry, and the Rotary Foundation for their unwavering commitment and belief in the power of service,” he said.
He stated that the collaborative effort was a great opportunity for all to make a difference in the lives of young women and men and served as a shining example of what could be achieved through shared vision and international cooperation.
Mr Affram said the projects were dedicated to the community and the school with the hope that it brought lasting benefits, open doors of opportunity, and inspire further development the community.

Madam Beth Earich, the Founder of House of Hope Ministries, Ghana, said the Gbi-Kledzo community was kind and gave the Organisation a free hand to operate in the community and they deserved commendations.
She said the Precious Pearls Preparatory School was built by the House of Hope Ministries and had grown from a very small school to its current stage that had a lot of learners, saying “we recognise that there are many struggling families who find it difficult to send their children to such a fine school”.
Madam Earich said, “We have set up a schools’ programme subject to review every three years based on need, where we offer scholarships to many children within the community.”
She noted that the Ministries were undertaking several projects in Ghana, particularly the Northern region where sanitation facilities, water, skills training and bible studies were offered to prisoners.
Madam Pearl Tugbe Cudjoe, the Country Director, House of Hope Ministries, said the difficulty in accessing potable drinking by community members necessitated the support for the mechanised borehole commissioned for the community.
She said the provision of the library and computer laboratory would help the school provide an engaging platform for children in the community during their free periods, especially on holidays.
She recounted the two-decade efforts in partnering the Rotary Club, adding that the commissioning of the projects was a dream come true and expressed gratitude to all stakeholders for their support.
Mr Prosper Kumi, the Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), said the commissioning of the projects was a testament of collaboration in serving humanity.
He said the facilities would enhance access to potable drinking water while the computer laboratory and library would improve the academic performances of the beneficiaries and pushed the learners beyond imagination.
Mr Kumi said Hohoe, was opened for development and transformation with the support of all traditional leaders in the Municipality and called on investors to take advantage while urging the community and the school to ensure good maintenance of the projects.
Mr Victor Kweku Kovey, the Hohoe Municipal Director of Education, in a statement on his behalf, said the projects would improve the educational outcomes of the learners while adding that education must have the value to address the needs of the people.
Togbe Deh IX, the Chief of Gbi-Kledzo, on behalf of the entire community expressed gratitude to the donors and stakeholders for the projects to address needs of the community and promised that good care would be taken to ensure the longevity of the facilities.
