Madam Rita Odoley Sowah, Member of Parliament for La-Dadekotopon, with support from the La-Dadekotopon Municipal Assembly has presented foodstuffs to traditional leaders and the various clan houses in aid of the celebration of Homowo in La.
The items which included bags of corn, palm nuts and fish are to aid in the preparation of the traditional Kpokpoi meal, and also support the successful celebration of the festival.
The gesture, according to the MP, is to ensure the everyone gets involved in the annual celebration, and also to enhance unity.
She mentioned that with her introduction of the annual Homowo cooking contest, many have come to learn the preparation of the traditional food.
She said her utmost aim was to imbibe in the youth cooking skills, especially the traditional and festive foods of the Ga people.
Mr. Alfredos Nii Anyetei, the Municipal Chief Executive of La-Dadekotopon, reiterated the call on the youth to avoid the use of illicit drugs stressing that its use continued hamper their self development and growth in society.
Some beneficiaries who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said the annual support by the MP had been instrumental in the successful of the celebration of the festival.
They commended her for the support and wished her well.
