Bodi (WN/R), Aug 22, GNA – Mr Frank Duku, the Western North Regional Director of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), has cautioned National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) credentialed service providers in the region to refrain from charging illegal fees from subscribers.

He said this when Regional NHIA held its 2025 mid-year performance review meeting at Sefwi Bodi.

He said: “I want to tell our credentialed health service providers to kindly move away from illegal charging of NHIS members when they visit the facilities to access health care.”

“Executive management has put in place measures to check those service providers who go contrary to this, and when caught will be sanctioned.”

Mr Duku encouraged the various NHIS district offices in the region to continue monitoring the activities of the health service providers in their respective areas and report organisations who flouted the directives.

He also urged the staff of the Scheme to continue working hard in their various districts to achieve their targets on membership and revenue mobilisations by the end of the year.

Mr Duku stated during the meeting that the region had been adjudged third best in terms of performance for the 2025 half-year review performance nationwide.

The two-day programme brought together staff from the various districts across the region, and management and officers from the regional office.
