First cohort of Tullow AgriVentures Programme graduate

Accra, Aug. 18, GNA – Ten Ghanaian agribusiness who make up the first cohort of the Tullow AgriVentures Programme (TAP) have successfully graduated from the one-year business training and support programme.

The businesses received tailored business development support, market linkages, and technical guidance under the TAP, implemented by the Innohub Foundation.

The businesses, who received $10,000 each last year to scale their businesses are: Tropical Snacks, Vicca Juice, Fafas Breakfast and Entofarms.

The rest are H.A Farms, Madolf Ventures, Wami Agro, Vokia Farms, Defarmacist Group Limited, and Minana Services.

TAP, an initiative by Tullow Ghana, in partnership with Innohub Foundation, seeks to empower agribusinesses, create sustainable jobs, and drive economic growth in Ghana’s agricultural sector.

The initiative is designed to be a catalyst for sustainable agricultural growth, boost rural incomes, and create lasting economic impact.

The first edition of the TAP supported more than 400 new agribusinesses and disbursed more than $600,000 to support small businesses across the country.

Under the second edition of TAP, Tullow Ghana has provided $10,000 each to 20 agribusinesses to grow their businesses and create employment opportunities along the agriculture value chain.

Addressing the businesses at the graduation ceremony in Accra, Mr. Edmund Fiifi Enchill, Social Performance Manager at Tullow, said there had been great results from the from the first edition and applauded the winners for their enthusiasm.

He said through the TAP Programme, Tullow sought to create employment for the youth and urged the agribusinesses to continuously explore ideas and support to grow their businesses.

“Be more committed. You are building something for generations to come. If you keep working at this, it will go far,” Mr Enchill said.

Ms Juliet Yayra Dzasi, Innohub’s Programme Coordinator for the Tullow AgriVentures Programme, said it had been an impactful journey thus far, with all the ten winners in the first edition receiving the dedicated funding to expand their business.

“Through this, we’ve got one business who is currently about to raise or in the process of acquiring about GHS10 million from a Bank to scale up his business operations,” she said.

In an interview, Mr Vozbeth Kofi Azumah, CEO, Vokia Farms, said the funding he received under TAP had enable him to expand his business and increase staff strength from five to 20 with many more in the pipeline.

“We are also able to increase our production capacity from 1,000 pieces to over 24,000 pieces, and that is also the support the programme has given us,” he said.

Tullow Ghana, operator of the Jubilee and Tweneboa, Enyenra, Ntomme (TEN) oilfields, and Innohub, the pioneering Enterprise Support Organization, also pledged their commitment to strengthening Ghana’s agribusiness landscape through ongoing engagement, training, and funding support.
